Today we are dealing with the most sophisticated medical equipment, therapy and detailed knowledge of different functions of the human body. That provides great opportunities for detecting and treating different conditions. Parallellt to that it has become contemporarly to have an outlook on health and disease in greater perspective, to observe a human being in it's wholness and with that in mind, an individuals body, mind and ego.
That as well is in accordance with the definition of health which is provided by the WHO stating:
"Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social prosperity, and not only the absence of illness and weakness".
By focusing only on the physical aspects of illness, we limit the capacity to understand disease and health from the holistic perspective. The perspective of health leads to existential questions on a individual basis. We observe the patient as a unique wholeness that strives to live in harmony with it's psychosocial surroundings and it is being assigned the central role in all aspects of treatment.

The hummingbird symbolizes many different concepts.
It's a symbol for accomplishing that which seems impossible and will teach you how to find the miracle of joyful living from your own life circumstances.
Because of its speed, the hummingbird is known as a messenger and stopper of time. It is also a symbol of love, joy, and beauty.
The hummingbird is also able to fly backwards, teaching us that we can look back on our past. But, this bird also teaches that we must not dwell on our past; we need to move forward.
When the hummingbird hovers over flowers while drinking nectar, we learn that we should savour each moment, and appreciate the things we love.
